Restaurants in Oerlikon: Our Reception Team’s Personal Recommendations

Many guests ask us at the reception where they can eat well in Oerlikon. As we are out and about in the neighbourhood every day ourselves, we are happy to recommend restaurants that we know personally and visit regularly. Here, members of our front‑office team share their favourite restaurants in Oerlikon.

Restaurant Ö

Although it may seem obvious, I consciously recommend Restaurant Ö, located in our own hotel. The reason is simple: it is one of the few classic restaurants of its kind that still exist in Zurich.

The kitchen focuses on traditional cooking, craftsmanship and honest flavours. A classic beef entrecôte prepared the way it has always been done is just as much part of the experience as the seasonal dishes. Depending on the time of year, mussels or fish take centre stage, adding variety and reflecting a menu that works with seasonal products.

I also particularly appreciate the pasta. Ravioli and tagliatelle are made entirely in‑house, including the dough. You can really taste this artisanal approach on the plate. For guests who value classic cuisine, genuine quality and a calm atmosphere, Restaurant Ö is an excellent choice.

House of Mezze

House of Mezze is my first recommendation for guests who want to eat well, fresh and without complications. The restaurant is located right next to the hotel and is perfect for a quick lunch or dinner.

What I appreciate most is the excellent value for money. For only slightly more than a typical fast‑food meal, you get freshly prepared dishes. The bowls can be customised, are very filling and ideal when you do not have much time. The hummus is especially good.

Another big advantage is the opening hours. House of Mezze is also open on Sundays, which many guests find very convenient. Anyone looking for fresh, honest food close to the hotel will feel right at home here.

Ristorante Santa Lucia

Ristorante Santa Lucia is one of my favourite places in Oerlikon because it feels very authentic and offers attentive service. You feel welcome straight away, whether you are just stopping by for a quick meal or planning to stay a little longer.

I am especially impressed by the variety of pizzas. Having a wood oven right in the middle of Oerlikon is still something special to me. The pizzas are prepared in a traditional way and have exactly the flavour you would expect from a good Italian pizza.
